REELS ASHTON HILL and WICKHAM JAMBOUREE are two strong driving marches which play well together. Ashton Hill is "Bredon Hill" in Worcestershire. The scene of many walks. Whickham Jambouree is a carnival in Oxfordshire in England. Look out for the dance in Dance With-in Tent.

MONT DORE written while travelling in the Massif Central - France. This is a driving and mechanical Contra Dance tune which soars up and down like the mountains in the Massif.

REMEMBERING ALAN written to remember Alan Hockney who died suddenly in September 2009. This Contra Dance, by John Meechan, reflects the way Alan loved to dance - flowing, turning, fluid and full of energy.

WALTZES PATIENCE. I wrote and recorded this tune for Patience (my wife) at the time of our wedding.

MISS CLAIRE MOIR. I wrote and recorded this tune for Gerard Eden and Claire Moir on the occasion of their wedding in 2006. Unfortunately, I couldn't travel to New Zealand to be with them, so I sent a DVD of mountain scenes and this tune is one of the backing pieces. (See also G&C).

CELTIC ROSE. This is a beautiful and haunting waltz tune which has a very Celtic feel. I play this on the recorder as this allows me to add a song like quality to the melody.

More Elegant Dance Tunes in the English Style. Elegance I wrote this tune after playing at many stately dance occasions in some of the loveliest ancestral homes in England. It is, as its title suggests, elegant. Hilary Herbert wrote the dance "The Refined Company" and suggested this tune.

Hornpipes. Heatherington's Hornpipe Written during a stay in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Heatherington's was a small and welcoming Irish Bar in Swissvale.
